Where the World Comes to Play

In 2026, Tallinn becomes home to something special: over 100 trumpeters from more than a dozen countries, one shared passion. Whether you're here to watch Sergei Nakariakov perform or to play your first competition solo, you're part of the same story. We're connecting traditions that go back to 1989 with the music that's being made right now, today. This is your invitation to be part of it.

journey

Thirty years ago, a small gathering of trumpet players in Pärnu sparked something extraordinary. Today, led by the Aavo Ots Music Studio, International Trumpet Days has become a vital force in Northern Europe's music scene. Our founding principle remains unchanged: great music should reach everyone, from village halls in Southern Estonia to Tallinn's most prestigious stages.

vision

This isn't just another competition. We're building relationships that last. Young musicians learn directly from legends who return year after year as familiar mentors. Our international jury doesn't just evaluate; they inspire and cheer on. Students gain world-class guidance at accessible prices, building the confidence and connections that transform promising talent into professional artists.

the festival 2026.

honoring our roots

We're celebrating two Estonian composers this year:
Harri Otsa and Hillar Kareva.
Their music deserves to be heard beyond our borders, so we're publishing works that have never been released and getting them performed on international stages.
It's about making sure the next generation knows where they come from.

The Journey.

World-class mentorship shouldn't require a world-class budget. Thanks to our partners, masterclasses with international stars are accessible to students across Estonia. Competition prizes include exceptional instruments from Stomvi and Schagerl, plus performance opportunities that open doors. We bring renowned teachers to remote communities because breakthroughs happen everywhere. This is how we invest in the future: one student, one masterclass, one possibility at a time.
